September 28, 2021: Visit Trencianske Teplice - Unveiling of a memorial table with planted trees Sakura

On 28 September I visited the famous spa town of Piestany, so here along with Mrs. Mayor Zuzana Frajková Ďurmeková uncovered a commemorative table planted with trees planted Sakura even last year.
For the first time, I visited Trenčianske Teplice during the autumn of last year, as the city expressed interest in participating in the Blooming Slovakia Campaign. It was a project launched by the Embassy as part of the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of exchanges between Slovakia and Japan, in which sakura trees were planted across Slovakia. Also, in Trenčianske Teplice, 32 trees were planted in this way, which line the road next to the Municipal Office building. This spring, the trees bloomed nicely and are said to have brought a lot of joy to the inhabitants and visitors of the town. During this visit to Trenčianske Teplice, I was invited to unveiling the memorial plaque with the mayor.
As it can be seen in the photo below, the link in the table is written in both Slovak and Japanese. I believe that it will remind visitors of the town for a long time to have sincere friendly relations between our nations as well as friendship with the town of Trenčianske Teplice.
I was very grateful for the pleasant and meaningful time he spent in the company of both Mayor Ďurmek and Deputy Prime Minister Fedorová. Among other things, we talked together about the possibility of my lecture for primary school students. The coronavirus pandemic last year significantly curtailed diplomatic activities, so I again felt the full importance of meeting and communicating with good friends in diplomacy during a meeting in Trenčianske Teplice.
In Trenčianske Teplice, I did not bypass the cunning shop with bath wafers. They explained me that there could be various fillings between a thin crunchy wafer - nut, poppy, cinnamon. I also brought several boxes of bath wafers as a souvenir to my employees, who were sincerely pleased. You can't get such tasty wafers anywhere but in Trenčianske Teplice.
