The event was also attended by ambassadors from Georgia, India, Indonesia and South Korea, who were thoroughly acquainted with the problems and challenges for the region, such as promoting tourism, creating jobs or securing and improving medical and nursing care systems. Subsequently, lively discussions took place.
Prior to my arrival in Slovakia, I gained experience in revitalizing regions in Japan, so I quickly realized that Slovakia was facing similar challenges and problems. At the event, I met an interesting man who spoke fluent English, was born and raised in Banská Bystrica and after his studies got a job in Bratislava. But now he has returned to his hometown to help to develop the city. It was a pleasant feeling for me to see that there were people like that. The state secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Martin Klus, who comes from the region, certainly had a good feeling.
The ambassadors also visited the wooden articular church in Hronsek, which is inscribed on the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List and is definitely worth a visit.
