On August 30, I paid a courtesy visit to the Apostolic Nuncio in Slovakia Mons. Giacomo Guido Ottonello.
In the diplomatic protocol of Catholic countries, the Apostolic Nuncio is the leader (doyen) of the diplomatic corps. According to Mons. This was the first time Ottonello had received a courtesy visit from the Ambassador of Japan. In our mutual conversation, the Apostolic Nuncio showed great interest in Japan. I was very happy to have Mons. Otonello found time in an extremely difficult period, at a time of culminating preparations before Pope Francis' visit to Slovakia in mid-September.
