August 26, 2021: Laying wreaths to the monument of the Slovak National Uprising

2021/12/9
On August 26, I took part in the act of laying wreaths at the Slovak National Uprising (SNP) Square in Bratislava and laid flowers on behalf of the Embassy of Japan.

The Slovak National Uprising (SNP), which began on August 29, 1944 in Banská Bystrica in central Slovakia, is an important event in the history of Slovakia leading to its liberation. A wreath-laying ceremony is held every year on the SNP Square in Bratislava. Although it rained heavily that day, the ambassadors and representatives of each country laid flowers and wreaths nearby the memorial with the help of soldiers of the army of the Slovak Republic.
