July 23, 2021: Ambassador Nakagawa invited representatives of the Slovak Paralympic Committee to lunch

On the day of the opening of the Olympic Games in Tokyo, I invited representatives of the Slovak Paralympic Committee to lunch. They informed me on the progress of preparations, but also about the problems and challenges they face.
The chairman of the Slovak Paralympic Committee, Mr. Ján Riapoš, took part at the lunch. He won four gold and one silver medal. At lunchtime, however, we did not know that he would win another bronze medal at the Tokyo Games. He is a strong leader of the Slovak Paralympic Committee, which is literally the driving force behind the development of the parasport in Slovakia. In addition to the chairman Ján Riapoš, the most successful Slovak parashooter Veronika Vadovičová also joined us. She has won three gold, one silver and one bronze medal at five Paralympic Games.
After the opening of the Tokyo Games on August 23, the Slovak Paralympic Committee will broadcast online programs from the Tokyo Games every day to inform about activities and achievements of 27 qualified Slovak athletes and to introduce Japan to the audience.
