June 29, 2021: Lunch with representatives of the Slovak Olympic and Sports Committee
2021/12/9
On June 29, month before the opening of the Olympic Games in Tokyo, I invited representatives of the Slovak Olympic and Sports Committee (SOŠV) to lunch. They informed me on the progress of preparations for the Tokyo Olympics.
In addition to the Secretary General of the Slovak Olympic and Sports Committee, Jozef Liba, two athletes participated - Barbora Mokošová (who will represent the Slovak Republic in Tokyo) and the legend of the Slovak gymnastics, Marianna Némethová-Krajčírová, participant at three Olympic games, eight years stable member of the Czechoslovak national team and for many years "the number two" behind the biggest star of the 1960s, Věra Čáslavská. She made her debut at the age of 16 at the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo, where she contributed to winning silver medal in teams. She was originally scheduled to take part in this year's Tokyo Games as a guest of honour, unfortunately this will not be possible due to the anti-pandemic measures in force in Japan.
