On September 23, I visited Mr. Juraj Droba, President of the Bratislava Self-Governing Region. Mr. Droba was a member of the group of friendship with Japan in the National Council of the Slovak Republic, and he is engaged in Okinawa karate and has a long-term positive relationship with Japan.
During the meeting, we focused on topics related to Japanese culture in Slovakia and the possibilities of cooperation in the field of sports. I explained to the President the process and current status of the sakura planting campaign "Blooming Slovakia" in the Bratislava region. The campaign is part of activities organized on the occasion of the centenary of relations between Japan and the Slovak Republic.
